Snowman Season for PP524

Happy Sunday!
Time for a new creative challenge over at The Paper Players
This week, Claire is hosting our monthly Clean-and-Simple (CAS) Challenge
Living in San Antonio, we don’t really see much snow. It’s actually still in the mid-70’s here. I do miss snow though, just not shoveling it or driving in it. For my card, I decided to use the Snowman Season stamp set. If you have visited before, you know Clean and Simple week is ALWAYS a challenge for me. I have to fight the urge to add lots of layers, but I think I did ok. :)

*I’ve listed all of the measurements and details for my card below and there is a full supply list at the very end of this post.
Color Combo:
I wanted to use bright and cheery colors for this card and while I was searching for a little pop of patterned paper, I loved this polka dot print from the Playing with Patterns DSP. It kind of reminded me of little snowballs paired with the cute snowman image. I also had the Ice Cream Corner Sprinkles sitting on my desk and they kind of worked perfectly with the color combo. They look so cute as “falling snow” and give just a touch of dimension.
Card Measurements and Details:
  • Calypso Coral Card Base: 4-1/4” x 11”, scored at 5-1/2”
  • Basic White Cardstock: 3-3/4” x 5”, embossed with Woodland Embossing Folder
  • Playing with Patterns Designer Series Paper (polka dot pattern): 1-12” x 4-1/4”
  • Basic White Cardstock: scrap to stamp snowman imagineer in Momento ink, then die cut using 2” x 3-1/8” rectangle from Stitched so Sweetly Dies
  • Color snowman with Stampin’ Blends, accent with wink of Stella and add Ice Cream Corner Sprinkles
  • Basic White Cardstock: 1-3/8” x 1”, stamp sentiment in Calypso Coral ink, adhere ribbon to back
  • Basic White Cardstock (inside card): 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Playing with Patterns Designer Series Paper (stripe pattern, inside card): 1” x 5-1/4"
Finally, a peek inside the card. I added another strip of the Playing with Patterns DSP and a coordinating sentiment. This card would work for Christmas, New Years or if you left the inside sentiment off, a cheery winter hello for a friend.

I hope you will join us this week over at The Paper Players and share your project for our Clean-and-Simple (CAS) “Snow" Challenge. We’d love to see what you come up with! You can link up your project through Noon PST on Friday January 22nd, 2021

  1. This snowman looks like a happy like fella! Cute card, Anne Marie. Almost as cute as Eliza ;)

  2. Anne Marie, you little snowman is just so adorable! His smile made me smile! Love the mix of patterns and the fun little sprinkles. Sprinkles make every thing better. You certainly made my "SNOW" challenge shine! Have a wonderful week, My Friend!

  3. Anne Marie, I really love this cheerful card! The DSP and the Ice Cream Sprinkles make such colorful "snow". I grew up in San Antonio and now live in Lubbock, where we see more snow than SA, but I am happier when snow falls one day and is gone the next. LOL

  4. I love seeing this set used with colors that aren't the tradition "Christmas" ones! Your colors are so fun and playful and I think I might have to bust out that embossing folder soon! Have a great week!

  5. What a cute little snowman!! AND a cute little Eliza! I know she'll get lots of love from you and your DH!

  6. Love these touches of bright spots and stripes Anne Marie - and they compliment your cute snowman perfectly!

  7. Adorable! Such a cute snowman, and I love the embossed background too!

  8. Love your card Anne Marie! LOVE the colored snowballs! Super cool idea! As for Eliza! OMG is she the cutest thing ever! Good for you guys to be foster parents for dogs. What a thoughtful thing to do. I hope she finds a good home!!

  9. Anne Marie, your card is such a fun, happy CAS! I love the softly colored snow, the patterned paper you chose and especially that smiling snowman. He's having so much fun. This one made me smile and I'm still smiling.

  10. OK... before I get to this fun card... what about Eliza. What a beautiful face. So glad she was rescued and you are working to help her trust! Your card is so happy and makes me smile. Fabulous CAS card, too!

Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment!
Have a great day! :)
