Snowman Season for PP524

Happy Sunday!
Time for a new creative challenge over at The Paper Players
This week, Claire is hosting our monthly Clean-and-Simple (CAS) Challenge
Living in San Antonio, we don’t really see much snow. It’s actually still in the mid-70’s here. I do miss snow though, just not shoveling it or driving in it. For my card, I decided to use the Snowman Season stamp set. If you have visited before, you know Clean and Simple week is ALWAYS a challenge for me. I have to fight the urge to add lots of layers, but I think I did ok. :)

*I’ve listed all of the measurements and details for my card below and there is a full supply list at the very end of this post.
Color Combo:
I wanted to use bright and cheery colors for this card and while I was searching for a little pop of patterned paper, I loved this polka dot print from the Playing with Patterns DSP. It kind of reminded me of little snowballs paired with the cute snowman image. I also had the Ice Cream Corner Sprinkles sitting on my desk and they kind of worked perfectly with the color combo. They look so cute as “falling snow” and give just a touch of dimension.
Card Measurements and Details:
  • Calypso Coral Card Base: 4-1/4” x 11”, scored at 5-1/2”
  • Basic White Cardstock: 3-3/4” x 5”, embossed with Woodland Embossing Folder
  • Playing with Patterns Designer Series Paper (polka dot pattern): 1-12” x 4-1/4”
  • Basic White Cardstock: scrap to stamp snowman imagineer in Momento ink, then die cut using 2” x 3-1/8” rectangle from Stitched so Sweetly Dies
  • Color snowman with Stampin’ Blends, accent with wink of Stella and add Ice Cream Corner Sprinkles
  • Basic White Cardstock: 1-3/8” x 1”, stamp sentiment in Calypso Coral ink, adhere ribbon to back
  • Basic White Cardstock (inside card): 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Playing with Patterns Designer Series Paper (stripe pattern, inside card): 1” x 5-1/4"
Finally, a peek inside the card. I added another strip of the Playing with Patterns DSP and a coordinating sentiment. This card would work for Christmas, New Years or if you left the inside sentiment off, a cheery winter hello for a friend.

I hope you will join us this week over at The Paper Players and share your project for our Clean-and-Simple (CAS) “Snow" Challenge. We’d love to see what you come up with! You can link up your project through Noon PST on Friday January 22nd, 2021

  3. Anne Marie, I really love this cheerful card! The DSP and the Ice Cream Sprinkles make such colorful "snow". I grew up in San Antonio and now live in Lubbock, where we see more snow than SA, but I am happier when snow falls one day and is gone the next. LOL
