Positive Inkers Global Design Team - April 2021

Hello there and Happy April to you! I’m thrilled to be blog hopping today with the Positive Inkers Global Design TeamWe are a group of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from around the globe who are super-excited to share our love of creativity. I’m so happy you stopped by today!

If this is the fist time you are visiting, please let me introduce myself. My name is Anne Marie Hile and I live in San Antonio, Texas. Welcome!
Our theme this month is to feature the Retiring 2019-2021 In Colors. Every year in the Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog there are 5 new In Colors released. The colors are available for 2 years, which is awesome because that means there is plenty of time to create with them…but it’s always sad when their time comes to an end. This set of In Colors will retire when the 2021 Annual Catalog is released on May 4th and let me tell you, I’ll be having a hard time saying good-bye to this group.

*I’ve listed all of the measurements and details for my card below and there is a full supply list at the very end of this post.
My goal for this card was to use ALL of the retiring In Colors on one card…which proved to be a bit of a challenge. All of these colors are beautiful but when it came to pairing them up, I had to balance them out to get them to work on this card. The In Bloom stamp set and coordinating Pierced Blooms Dies were perfect for the plan I had to use all of the colors together. I decided to use Pretty Peacock as the focal color along with stronger additions of Rococo Rose and Terracotta Tile. I used Purple Posy and Seaside Spray sparingly and I love how the little bit of extra color really pops on the card.

I kept the background simple with the embossed brick pattern and vellum doily. I tried a few patterned papers but they just seemed to distract from the flowers. So, I went with some awesome texture along with the detail from a Square Vellum Doily. A subtle pop of pattern that doesn’t distract from those detailed flowers.
Card Measurements and Details:
  • Pretty Peacock Card Base: 4-1/2” x 11”, scored at 5-1/2”
  • Basic White Cardstock: 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Crumb Cake Cardstock: 3-7/8” x 5-1/8”, embossed with Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder, sponge Crumb Cake ink around edges
  • Pretty Peacock, Rococo Rose, Terracotta Tile, Purple Posy and Seaside Spray Cardstock: scraps to die cut flowers and eaves from Pierced Blooms Dies
  • Basic White Cardstock: scrap to stamp sentiment in Pretty Peacock ink and die cut using the label from the Pierced Blooms Dies
  • Square Vellum Doily, Pearl Basic Jewels and Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon
  • Basic White Cardstock (inside card): 4” x 5-1/4”, stamp sentiment and assorted flowers in Pretty Peacock, Rococo Rose, Terracotta Tile and Seaside Spray ink. For the Purple Posy flowers, either color with a Purple Posy Stampin’ Write Marker OR use Highland Heather ink, stamped-off once
Finally, here is a little peek inside the card. I stamped a coordinating sentiment from the In Bloom stamp set and some flowers in the retiring In Colors to "keep that party going" from the front of the card.
