September 2021 - Stamping Sunday Blog Hop

Hello Stamping Friends! Today, I’m super-excited to share the September 2021 Stamping Sunday Blog Hop. This hop is hosted by Sara Levin and we share on the second Sunday of every month. Our theme for the month is “Celebrate”.
For my projects, I decided to celebrate the holiday season, a little early. I am absolutely smitten with the Whimsy & Wonder Suite of products in the Stampin’ Up!® August - December Mini Catalog. This suite features the Whimsical Trees stamp set, Christmas Trees Dies, Whimsy & Wonder Specialty Designer Series Paper, Wonderful Snowflakes accents and Blushing Bride Frayed Grosgrain Ribbon. As soon as I saw the catalog, the non-traditional holiday colors immediately drew me to this suite and it was first on my list to purchase. Today, I have a fun card and coordinating treat holder to share with you.

All of the measurements for my project are listed below and there is a full supply list at the very end of this blog post.
My card is actually not a full card base. I don’t know if it’s technically a fun fold, but more of a "peek-a-boo fold" which I’m really enjoying creating right now. It’s a great way to showcase different paper patterns on your card. I don’t know about you, but I have quite the supply of patterned paper in my craft studio. This is a great layout to showcase coordinating patterns because pretty paper needs to be shared, not stashed away. I have to keep reminding myself of that! :)
This trio of trees just makes me smile, especially with all of that pretty pink and sparkly detail. It’s tough to see in the photos, but I added some Wink of Stella to accent the larger tree, which gives a fun “snowy” look. I also used one of my favorite products that you can earn for FREE right now (with a qualifying order through September 30th) during Sale-A-Bration. The Be Dazzling Specialty Paper is so much fun! I affectionately call it the “disco ball paper” and it adds such a fun detail. That tiny tree really packs a pop of sparkly goodness and it looks great with the iridescent detail in the patterned paper.
Card Measurements and Details:
  • Blushing Bride Card Base: 5-1/2” x 7”, scored at 4-1/4
  • Basic White Cardstock (front of card): 2-1/2” x 5-1/4”
  • Whimsy & Wonder Specialty DSP (snowflake pattern, front of card): 2-3/8” x 5-1/8”
  • Basic White Cardstock (inside card): 4” x 5-1/4”, stamp sentiment and tree in Blushing Bride ink
  • Whimsy & Wonder Specialty DSP (stripe pattern, inside card): 1-3/8” x 5-1/8”
  • Basic White Cardstock: die cut one 2-1/2” x 3-3/4” rectangle from Scallop Contour Dies
  • Basic White Cardstock: 3/4” x 3/4”, stamp sentiment in Blushing Bride ink
  • Blushing Bride Cardstock and Be Dazzling Specialty Paper (Sale-A-Bration): die cut trees
  • Basic White Cardstock: scrap to stamp and die cut tree
  • Wonderful Snowflakes: cut one in half and adhere behind scalloped rectangle
  • Blushing Bride Frayed Ribbon and Basic Pearls
Here’s the coordinating Ghirardelli chocolate treat holder! This little matchbook-style box holds two chocolate squares and is really easy to put together. I created this box last year for a class and have made them a lot for little gifts throughout the year. The box is tied closed with a piece of silver trim. I taped the trim down on the front flap of the treat holder and added the decorative layer over the top using Stampin’ Dimensionals. The Wonderful Snowflakes are so beautiful and really add a fun detail to the card. Fun Fact: the center of the snowflake is the EXACT size of a Stampin’ Dimensional, which makes them really easy to adhere.

I love these little chocolate squares and they come in a variety of flavors. For this box, I used dark chocolate raspberry and white chocolate sugar cookie. The colors aren’t a perfect match but I think they still coordinate and look pretty. I really don’t think anyone mind when those yummy treats are involved!
Ghirardelli Chocolate Treat Holder Measurements and Details:
  • Blushing Bride Cardstock: 10” x 3”

  • Die cut a 2-1/2” x 1-1/8” Stitched Rectangle from the Blushing Bride cardstock, leaving a 1/4” strip of cardstock between the die cut rectangle and the edge. (see photo below)
  • Basic White Cardstock: 2-3/4” x 3”
  • Whimsy & Wonder Specialty DSP: 2-5/8” x 2-7/8”
