Sparkly Pink Hearts for PP572

Happy Sunday, friends! Happy New Year!
Time for our first challenge of 2022 over at The Paper Players
This week, Ann is hosting our monthly Theme Challenge

We are also welcoming three amazing new Guest Designers for the year: Cindy Beach, Jennie Maier and Christy Stanford. So excited they are joining us. Welcome ladies!
As soon as I saw the theme, I was super-excited to create! If you’ve ever visited me before you might know that I really like…ok LOVE anything that sparkles. I went back and forth on what to create and came upon one of my favorite sets of paper, the 2021-2023 In Color Shimmer Vellum. It comes in five colors and the shimmer really can’t be beat. I decided use the Polished Pink (my favorite) and pair it up with a simple black and white color combo to create a cute Valentine’s Day card.

*I’ve listed all of the measurements and details for my card below and there is a full supply list at the very end of this post.
Color Combo:

The hearts were die cut from the Sweet Hearts Dies which are a sneak peek product in the new January-June Stampin’ Up!® Mini Catalog on January 4th. I decided to cut a variety of sizes and add them to my card with Stampin’ Dimensionals for a little added pop. The only problem I was encountering was that you could see the dimensional behind the vellum and that wasn’t going to work. So, I took a piece of Shimmer Vellum and adhered it to a piece of Basic White Cardstock with some Stampin’ Seal, then I die cut the hearts so they had a solid backing and the dimensional wouldn’t show through.

I added some texture to the background with the Gingham Embossing Folder, which is another fun sneak peek product from the Mini Catalog. I just love how the texture adds some detail without taking away from the clean design of the card. The sentiment is stamped from the Create with Friends stamp set which is great if you lare a fan of big, bold sentiments like I am. I added a sprinkling of rhinestones as a finishing touch and at the last minute I popped on a little piece of the Black & White Gingham Ribbon. I love how it came out and I hope you do as well. :)
Card Measurements & Details:
  • Polished Pink Card Base: 4-1/4” x 11”, scored at 5-1/2"
  • Basic Black Cardstock: 4” x 5-1/4"
  • Basic White Cardstock: 3-7/8” x 5-1/8”, embossed with the Gingham Embossing Folder (available 1/4/22)
  • Basic Black Cardstock: 3-7/8” x 1-5/8"
  • Basic White Cardstock: 3-7/8” x 1-1/2”, stamp the sentiments from the Craft with Friends stamp set in Polished Pink and Momento inks
  • Polished Pink Shimmer Vellum: adhere a 3” x 3” piece of Shimmer Vellum to a 3” x 3” Basic White Cardstock and die cut the hearts from the Sweet Hearts Dies (if you have extra room, cut extra of the little hearts to use for another project)
  • Adhere the hearts to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals/Mini Sampin’ Dimensionals and the inside of the card using liquid glue.
  • Black & White Gingham Ribbon and Rhinestone Basic Jewels
  • Basic White Cardstock (inside card): 4” x 5-1/4”, wrap a piece of Black & White Gingham ribbon around the left side and add two hearts die die cut from the Sweet Hearts Dies
Finally, here is look inside the card. I simply added a little strip of the gingham ribbon and some extra hearts that I die cut. Just a little extra detail to “keep the party going” from the front of the card with plenty of space for a handwritten note.
