Sweet Citrus for PP625

Happy Sunday, friends!
Time for a fun new creative challenge over at The Paper Players
This week, the always fabulous Joanne is hosting our Sketch Challenge.
I do love a sketch challenge and this one is F-U-N! There is so much possibility, I know I’ll be using this layout again and again. I sure hope you will get crafty and join us over at The Paper Players. We’d love to see what YOU create with this awesome Sketch Challenge!

*I’ve listed all of the measurements and details for my card below and there is a full supply list at the very end of this post.

Color Combo:
Ok, I’ll admit it, this card is a LOT! Haha! When I saw the sketch I was inspired to use the Sweet Citrus Bundle from the Stamp’ Up!® January - April Mini Catalog. The bundle includes the stamps, embossing folder and a die set that works with both. It’s such a fun set and is already a favorite for me.

I started by stamping a bunch of fruit images. I went with grapefruit because the pink and yellow color combo just makes me happy. Well, I guess the could be lemons…so let’s compromise and say it’s a combination of both. Once I started placing my images on the card, I realized that this is going to be one of those cards that has a lot going on. I don’t mind though because the combination of colors and images is so bright and cheerful, I don’t think anyone would mind finding this card in their mailbox.

I really had a hard time figuring out how I wanted to add the sentiment. I tried it on a bunch of different shaped dies and finally decided on a square for a little contrast against all of the round fruit. Truth be told, I don’t love that ribbon detail completely but I wanted a little texture and really couldn’t FIT ribbon anywhere else on the card. Haha! I think it’s a happy card and I hope you think so too.

  • Sweet Sorbet Metallic Woven Ribbon & Pastel Adhesive-Backed Sequins

Finally, here is a peek inside the card! Surprise…I added even MORE fruit! Why NOT, right? Do you remember that movie “Mrs. Doubtfire”? There is a scene in that movie that popped in my head when I made this card where Robin Williams sneakily throws a lime at Pierce Brosnan’s head. Then exclaims: “It was a run by fruiting!” That’s how I’m describing this card. It’s just SO MUCH fruit! :-) I do have a cute thank you card all ready to pop in the mail so I’m pretty happy about that.

I hope you will join us this week over at The Paper Players and share your project for our Sketch ChallengeWe’d love to see what you come up with! You can link up your project through Noon PST on Friday February 3rd, 2023

  3. Anne Marie, I would never have put these colors together - but they work beautifully and make me realize that I really need to get out of my color safety zone. I love the bright, fresh, zingy feel of the colors and the elements. Fabulous use of the sketch! This card is like a long cold drink on a hot summer's day! love it
