Happy Sunday, friends!
Time for a fun new creative challenge over at The Paper Players!
This week, I’m so excited to be hosting our Color Challenge.
It’s no secret that I’m a little obsessed with the new and returning colors in the color refresh Stampin’ Up!® announced in the Annual Catalog this year. Lemon Lolly is quite possibly the perfect yellow (in my opinion anyway) and paired with Lost Lagoon…just a beautiful match indeed. I originally fell in love with this combo on THIS CARD I created back in the beginning of May and wanted to have a go with it again for this challenge. I sure hope you will take these colors for a spin and join us over at The Paper Players. We’d love to see what YOU create!
*I’ve listed all of the measurements and details for my card below and there is a full supply list at the very end of this post.
Since I used florals on my original card with this combo, I wanted to try to find something else in my stamp stash that would showcase these colors well. Hello there Little Monkey stamp set! My neutral is Crumb Cake for the monkey and the tree branch. This little guy is swinging by to say hi…and steal some yummy bananas while he is at it!
The monkey and bunch of bananas were easy to cut out with the coordinating Little Monkey Builder Punch (hooray for no fussy-cutting!) and I used the trusty Stylish Shapes Dies to help build the scene. This is just a happy card. I love it and I hope you do as well!
Card Measurements and Details:
- Lemon Lolly Cardstock: 4-1/4” x 11”, scored at 5-1/2”
- Lost Lagoon Cardstock: 3-3/4” x 5”
- Bright & Beautiful Designer Series Paper: 3-5/8” x 4-7/8”
- Basic White Cardstock: scrap to die-cut largest circle from Stylish Shapes Dies
- Lost Lagoon Cardstock: scrap to die-cut banner from Stylish Shapes Dies, heat emboss sentiment
- Basic White Cardstock (card interior): 3-3/4” x 5”
Finally, here is a peek inside the card. What is more fun than one monkey? Well another monkey, of course. I kept the party going with a second little fella and his bitty banana. The sentiment was perfect along with a little pop of foliage to bring the Lost Lagoon color inside.
Random fact: Did you know that a group of monkey’s is called a “troop”. That’s kind of fun, right?
I hope you will join us this week over at The Paper Players and share your project for our Color Challenge. We’d love to see what you come up with! You can link up your project through Noon PST on Friday June 16th, 2023.
