Happy Sunday, friends!
Time for a fun new creative challenge over at The Paper Players!
This week, Claire is hosting our Clean-and-Simple (CAS) Challenge.
Clean-and-Simple week, we meet again. Haha! This is always my most challenging week, but I think I’ve really started to embrace it more and more in recent months. I did find for this challenge that I do NOT have an overabundance of sport-themed stamps in my stash. But I DID find a rooster on a skateboard. Skateboarding is a sport…although I don’t see a lot of roosters participating regularly. It fit the bill for this challenge, so I went with it! I sure hope you will take this challenge for a spin and join us over at The Paper Players. We’d love to see what YOU create!
*I’ve shared a full supply list of products used to create this card at the end of this post.
Color Combo:
The Hey Chuck stamp set and coordinating dies are one of my favorite bundles in the Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog! Animals are always more fun when they are wearing clothing and “doing things”, right? The roosters in this set sure have a lot of personality and I just love all of the different ways they can be colored, too.
I decided to go with a bright and cherry primary color combo for my card, which I kind of love. I kept the layout pretty CAS and added three 1/4” strips of cardstock to create a little grounding for this feathered friend as he rides across the card on his board. I also popped in some texture on the die-cut circle from the new Cheery Patterns Embossing Folders. The waves created a little more “movement” which I really liked. Finally I popped on a little die cut sunshine…because everything is more fun on a sunny day and two little festive pearls to finish things off.
I hope you will join us this week over at The Paper Players and share your project for our Clean-and-Simple “Sports" Challenge. We’d love to see what you come up with! You can link up your project through Noon PST on Friday September 22nd, 2023.

Haha! A skateboarding rooster is always a fun subject for a card---love your bright colors too! You embraced the CAS element perfectly!
ReplyDeleteAnne Marie, I think that owning a rooster on a skateboard stamp just calls out to be used! Just what every neighborhood needs - a rooster on a skateboard announcing the sunrise! HAHAH! But it worked perfectly for Claire's theme and I like your bright colors.
ReplyDeleteI think you made a great CAS card. I love the skateboarding Rooster, perhaps he hangs out with Tony Hawk.
ReplyDeleteAn adorable card, Anne Marie! I love the cheery colors! Clean and awesome! Have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteAnne Marie I love your use of what I call school colors - the bright blue, red and yellow is fabulous and your little chicken skateboarding is awesome!
