Daisy Lane for PP482

Happy Sunday! Time for a new creative challenge over at The Paper Players
This week, Joanne is hosting our monthly Clean and Simple (CAS) Challenge.
Check it out and play along with us!
I don’t know about you, but I have quite a few floral stamp sets. As soon as I saw this challenge, I immediately went to one of my all-time favorite sets: Daisy Lane. Daisies are such “happy” flowers and really remind me of spring. Since this was a CAS challenge, I kept the card pretty simple while keeping that big, bold blossom the focal point of the card. The Best Dressed Designer Series Paper has some beautiful floral patterns and the pattern I picked seemed to work well with the daisy, too.

Color Combo:
This card came together pretty easily with the help of four different punches. I started by stamping two daisy images fro the Daisy Lane stamp set on Purple Posy Cardstock. One thing to note, Purple Posy Ink is NOT available so I just colored the stamp using the Purple Posy Stampin’ Write Marker. Easy fix! Then I stamped a second daisy in Daffodil Delight Ink on Daffodil Delight Cardstock. I punched out the two purple posy flowers using the Daisy Punch and the center of the Daffodil Delight flower using the 1/2” Circle Punch. Next, I punched two leaves from the Leaf Punch from Mint Macaron Cardstock. I also used a stylus to add some little “veins” to the leaves to give them a little more texture. Then I punched two springs from the Sprig Punch out of Vellum and cut them in half so I could spread them out a little more behind the daisy.

For some added detail I used Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush to add some sparkle to the daisies and also to the leaves. Then I added some Shimmery Crystal Effects to the center of the flower to dress it up a bit.
I was inspired by the current sketch challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches for my card layout. It’s no secret that I LOVE a good sketch challenge and this one really worked out perfectly for my daisy card. Check out the FMS challenge, you will find some awesome creative inspiration there.
