You can find the full blog list toward the end of this post.

This kit is chock full of crafty fun! Just look at everything that comes in the box this month.

Full disclosure, my Paper Pumpkin arrived on Tuesday evening, so I was a little worried I was not going to be able to participate in this month’s blog hop. Ack! But as soon as I started playing with the kit, I was completely inspired with fun alternative projects. The kit comes with 20 double-sided “cracker" boxes. I decide to deconstruct one of the boxes and then came the idea for these little “bow tie” projects, with a few additional stamping supplies.

I made two sets of projects to showcase the different colors on the box. The first is Bold and Bright. I don’t use Pacific Point often, but when I do, I LOVE it paired with Pumpkin Pie. I wanted to make some birthday cards to have on hand, so added in the Zany Zebras stamp set because the sentiments were the perfect size and font for the projects.

*I've listed all of the measurements and details for the projects below along with a full supply list at the very end of this post.
Super-Easy Bow Ties and Scallops: I simply used my Paper Trimmer to cut off the scallop along the first score line, then I cut at the second score line to get the “bow ties”. I did the same thing on the other side and was left with that center panel which can easily be used as Designer Series Paper for another project. Now, there are a few horizontal score lines on the cut pieces. The way I got around them being so pronounced, was to run all of the pieces through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine with the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder. It adds a subtle texture to the paper and pretty much “erases” the score lines that were there.
No Pumpkin Pie Ribbon? No problem: The Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding can be any color you’d like it to be when you color it with Stampin’ Blends. A little tip when coloring your ribbon with Stampin’ Blends, always make sure you have some scrap paper on your work surface, because the color will saturate the ribbon and can stain your work surface. You also just need to give the ribbon a little time to dry, but since the Stampin’ Blends are alcohol based, it really doesn’t take that long at all. Clean off your stamps, answer an email or go give the dog a treat (or two)…then your ribbon will be ready to go.
Card Measurements and Details:
*Colors for the second project are listed in (parentheses)

Mini Pizza Box Measurements and Details:
*Colors for the second project are listed in (parentheses)
  • Pacific Point (or Early Espresso) Cardstock - 3 1/4” x 3 1/4”
  • Pumpkin Pie (or Cajun Craze) Cardstock - 3” x 3”
  • Whisper White Cardstock - 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”
  • Whisper White Cardstock - die cut three of the smallest ovals in the Stitched Shaped Dies
  • Gold Brushed Metallic Cardstock (or Copper Metallic) - 2 1/4” x 1/2”, punch either end with Tailored Tag Punch to make “banner”
  • Cut the two “bow ties” from the cracker box in the Paper Pumpkin Kit
  • Pacific Point (or Early Espresso) Cardstock - die cut two small buttons from the All Dressed Up Dies
Since the cracker boxes in the kit are double sided, I HAD to make another set of projects using a different color combo. More options = more crafting fun, right? This one is more of a Rich and Regal combo and makes a great masculine birthday card. Instead of gold foil, I used the same Brushed Metallic Cardstock pack, but pulled out the copper paper instead.
Tool Time: Along with the Tasteful Textures 3D Embossing Folder, I also used the Stitched Shapes Dies, Stitched Rectangles Dies and the little buttons are from the All Dressed Up Dies. The sentiment is punched out using the Classic Label Punch. If you don’t have button dies, you could always use a small circle in the senate of the bowties, too. Look through your tools and see what you have that will work.
A closer look at the card using the
Cajun Craze - Early Espresso - Bronze Brushed Metallic color combo.
